Excellent Hotel and Location

We stayed at Hotel King in July 2019. The hotel is in a good location to the city center and to restaurants and other attractions. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very pleasant. The hotel has two restaurants and we ate in one and it was with good service and good food. I recommend this hotel for business or pleasure. George and Bob at Reception were friendly and spoke excellent English. Unless you have many suitcases it is within walking distance of the train station.

so-so

Very disappointed. Very average bedding (even mediocre for children), borderline cleanliness. Insufficient breakfast, and swimming pool out of order for 2 days. No sauna or jacuzzi during the entire stay (8 days).
Also note: there are swimming lessons, during which you are thrown out!
Incompetent staff, no one knows how to mix a cocktail or open a bottle of wine at the bar. The said bar is closed from 10 p.m.

After all is a 3* star hotel not Radisson

Is a good value hotel. I agreed with others when complain about this and that but is a 3* star hotel. What bothers me is the heating/hot water schedule: this is so 80's in communist time. Suprising for a hotel that occupancy rate is over 80%( they said!!). The jacuzzi water was also cold but the receptionist/bartender/and so on manage to fill it with hot water. So if I would go again in Targoviste I will check in at King again.

Average

It lacks the attention to details and it has no soul.
The major let down was the bathroom : mold in the shower, the water was like finnish sauna (hot, cold, hot again).
The breakfast was decent, and the pool was great.

A fair choice

The hotel is fairly good, but could be definitely use some improvement.
The rooms ar ok and comfortable, although some of them are smoking rooms and keep the smell pretty strongly.
The staff is friendly and helpful and the food was good (not very good, but good).
