Don’t recommend. Stay elsewhere.

Do not recommend, there was a musky dirty smell as son as you enter the door. We were supposed to stay 2 nights and opted to leave early and only stay the 1 night due to the uncleanliness. While we stayed we saw 0 staff & didn’t look very well cleaned. Window was smashed and only cardboard to cover the breakage. Didn’t feel very safe. No common area and baggage lockers were tiny.

Avoid this site

The expression "cheap is expensive" should be accompanied by an image of this den of bad death in which I have been unlucky enough to fall in my view of Cardiff.
The location is great if not for the fact that the rooms are located above a bar of the same Owner. The problem is not the noise, it is the vibration of the walls and floor by the high volume of the music.
But definitely the worst thing about this accommodation is the cleanliness. Disgusting. Literally the smell is very unpleasant from the moment you walk in.
The floor of the room was disgusting; full of lint and dust. Some mattresses are gnawed and most duvets and pillows are very dirty. The first night I got into the duvet and when I left the next morning my sock came out with a yellow stain (I obviously got into clothes inside that thing).
Bathrooms are impractical. One of the showers had no latch so you don't have any privacy. And again, more dirt and broken things.
I was very lucky not to sleep here on the second day of my stay.
Finally, I would like to dedicate a few words to the person who stole my shower towel that I left in the room: you disgust more than this accommodation.

Violated

I am disgusted. I went home late to find some crazy guy literally on my bed. I was very angry to find him there and he was implying he’d wanna do stuff to me. I was angry and then he tried to steal my bag. This is sexual assault! And I will pursue it further !

DO NOT STAY HERE

I came down from Chester to Cardiff to see Taylor swift arriving the day prior so I would be able to get some sleep and honestly this place is just awful.
On arrival once I managed to work out the silly online keys that don't work if the hostel is busy, I was greeted by vile smells and filthy carpets leading through the corridors towards the room. I got to the room and it didn't get any better the floor was covered in mess, dirt, grime, nails food etc. The "safe" storage was missing parts so couldn't be locked with a padlock, the bedding was unclean and looked as if someone had slept in it the night before.
Having dropped some of my items in the room I headed out and came back late, I used my rain poncho as a protective device so I could lay down and try get some sleep, sadly this wasn't possible as the curtains were broken and a hole in the window was poorly fixed allowing smells from an extractor next door to come straight into the room.
My second night I was in a different room, I was told my luggage would be moved and kept in a safe place for me to collect after my concert. On arrival back there was no staff in the pub for me to get my luggage so I tried the room I slept in the previous night my bad was there luckily only of the ladies I met the night before had looked after it for me but this wasn't what I was told was going to happen.
My second room was even worse, I left early and slept at the train station as it was just vile

Cauchemar en cuisine

I absolutely recommend this Flophouse to the people who like absolutely horrendous and stinky places to stay at. If you don't mind the smelly and ruined carpets, the uncomfortable and unchanged beds, the weird people and strangers that you will be staying with, the nasty and moldy showers, the broken and disgusting toilets that's the place for you. Unless you are too drunk and high to care about basic comfort and hygiene avoid this place. Oh right, and unless you are a man avoid this place at all costs, it'is very unsafe for women. Weird and drunk people wander around the halls at night, occasionnally trying to break into others people rooms, some bathrooms can be oppened by a magnetic card, which allows anyone to enter while you shower, which is not the most pleasant experience. There is supposed to be a reception and a common room, which I didn't see, unless you count the vacant table at the entry as one, the staff is just nowhere to be found. The rooms are in shambles, the floor is sticky and the bedsheets have uncleaned spots, because that's what they are: UNCLEAN (they don't know in which bed you sleep, so they don't know which sheets to change). The worst is the sanitary in the bathrooms, people don't even bother to flush the toilets (the people you stay with is not their responsability, not even if they are unhygienic, however they don't clean nor repair the toilets) , there are tiny sinks in which you can barely wash your hands, let alone do any claning with, and the soap that falls on you because it is scotched with tape on the wall. The omnipotent smell of vomit is present everywhere, the showers, the toilets and the halls, in other words: it reeks. Even in the bar, which shouldn't be surprising you would say, but I don't think you can imagine just how bad it is. We passed throught the bar during the day, when it has just been cleaned, apparently they don't know how to clean because it was a debauchery, which says a lot about the hygiene in the rest of the place. I don't even imagine the state of the kitchen, if there is any, because a lot of the included things where not so included. It's not giving slay, it's giving conjuring met "cauchemar en cuisine" and had a horrendous child. I'm sure you can find another place with the same range of prices and basic sanitarity and hospitality, at this point they are just stealing your money and giving you a free haunted house experience.
