Great staff!

Just to add to our previous review, beyond Amin, the front desk agent Connor and the manager Teresa were also extremely friendly and helpful, both acknowledging our status and giving us lots of tips about the hotel and town to make the most of our stay!

The Inn at the Mission San Juan Capistrano Hotel charged mandatory add-on fees and charged for parking on top of the nightly rate that Hotels.com charged.
It is misleading and disappointing, as the Hotel appears to be taking advantage of the victims of the Palisades fire by increasing prices and imposing mandatory add-ons. On top of this, the TV didn't work, it was stuck on the home page advertising, and the soap dispenser in the shower was empty.
The service was poor, considering the 5-star price.

Wonderful hotel and terrific service!

We are currently enjoying a fantastic experience in this town of San Juan Capistrano, just adjacent to the Mission which we experienced today! Special shout out to the valet gentleman named Amin who was very knowledgeable about the town and very helpful with getting us settled in our room. We can’t say enough about our stay at the Inn of San Juan Capistrano- what a fantastic boutique hotel!

Add $95/day + tax to the room price they quote

This is an average Marriot. Rooms are fine, main lobby is fine, bar is fine. The reason for the one star, as others have mentioned, is that after check-in they tell you that they are going to charge you an unadvertised $40 resort fee per room per day (in our case 2 rooms so $80/day) that they then try to justify by saying you can use it as a credit against their incredibly overpriced food and drinks. Also, they only allow valet parking at $55/day (no self parking option) - they actually gate off a huge, mostly empty lot behind the hotel and force the valet parking. Street parking in the area is minimal so they can hold you hostage for this. If they advertised the true cost of the room (+$95/day) I wouldn't have a problem - I can then decide if I want to stay at that price or not - its the fact that they advertise a lower price then force the extra fees on you when you arrive that is not acceptable.

We had a great stay at the Inn at the Mission San Juan Capistrano. Conveniently located and an easy walk to restaurant shops and the mission. Will return soon!
