Perfect for sightseeing in New York

Right in the neighborhood, about 3 minutes away from the subway station with a direct line through the city to Brooklyn. Very quiet and equipped with everything you need. Clean and spacious room, great shower!

Booking canceled last minute by host. Communication minimal. The name has now also been changed to 'NYC townhouse'.

This accommodation, booked 8 months ago and paid 2 months ago, canceled the booking on our arrival day. Booked this accommodation via Booking.com, but they also need to tighten the alarm procedure.
I paid them directly, the refund is now parked with Paypal and awaiting a full refund.
This accommodation has now changed its name to 'NYC townhouse' this weekend. Leperds.

To potential guests, please have compassion and do not let what you are about to read dissuade you from booking my place. Please read other reviews. I will survive this craziness. 2023 has been rough. Hacking is real.
I am in compliance with the Local Law 18 to do short-term renting which is why someone Is after my home/business.
I am sorry you had that horrible experience. Your horrible ordeal is a result of me being hacked. I can assure you that Booking.com had ample time to let the 5 guest know their reservation was canceled due to the short -term rental law. Host were allowed to canceled penalty fee. Booking.com has unlawfully invoice me $3,600 for September's commission. Host who were not in compliance were allowed to cancel penalty free. Booking platforms are not allowed to ask or receive commission from host who are not in compliance. More importantly, my neighbors or friends were not ask for commission.
I mention in another negative review accusing me of canceling. I see all of the negative occurrences a result of me being hacked. Case in point, when a refund is issued, via Paypal, you should receive it immediately. I am not sure why you did not. You mentioned, my business, West 119th B&B has been changed to NYC Townhouse. Now, this proves I am hacked and the hackers are orchestraing for me to lose my home. I did not change the name of my business. I Googled NYC Townhouse its listed with Trivago. The picture of the building is not my building. Interestingly, Google maps shows its between West 116th and 120th. I am on West 119th Street. There is no other information, i.e. pictures or prices. It is not bookable. All of this is very disturbing. God will get me through this.

Horrible way to be treated

We were late to check in on the day of our arrival due to delays in our flights from the UK. We notified them as soon as we landed that we were going to be a few hours late. The response we got was disgusting and put us in a position where we didn’t know if we had a place to stay that night. They then refused to get back in touch with us. We were flexible in terms of meeting them at a time that suited but they clearly just didn’t want us there after the delay. I have taken photos of the conversations we had with them. Completely understand the inconvenience caused by the delay but when you’ve travelled across the world and your paid in full accommodation gets cancelled because of this it puts you in a scary situation of where you’re staying. We had to book and pay for another hotel for our week in New York.

To potential guests, this guest never contacted me about being delayed as he stated in his review. Please see in our text exchange that he posted. He writes, I am just seeing your message. I would have called you earlier. If he had called me, all would have okay because communication is essential in life. The guest informed me of his check-in time. I run my entire operation alone. Therefore, I plan my social life around check-in & out. I made plans in advance. 4 hours after the requested check in time, I called the guest to inform him I have to leave and I won't return home until very late. His response was that is not a problem. Please keep in mind, I called him 4 hours after his requested check-in time and I was not going to return, now until after midnight. That means, I would have been aimlessly waiting for the guest had I not call. Also, he answered on the first ring. I understand being 1 or 2 hours late without calling. I understand delays, but know one is not that delayed not to communicate. He is suggesting he was constantly rushing to a plane. For me, it showed a lack of respect for me and my time. I presume people know based on the reviews, you are booking a room in a home and that I am the only staff. I have been hosting for 12 years and the experiences/behaviors from some of the guests for the past 2 - 3 years is of concern. And due to the hacking, I believe the questionable behaviors are intentional. Please read past reviews to see the shift.
