It’s simply a fabulous place. Lovely dinner, fab wines, wonderful service, the whole place looks and feels great. And a lovely, smallish pool overlooking the Danube.

Will not visit again

Luxury hotel and winery claiming high standards and good wine. Actually nothing special than the building on the river bank. Bad service at the entrance bittered my taste a little.
Wine is OK , but would prefer other brands, especially for Gamza.
Good location
Probably a little bit overpriced for one of the poorest regions in EU.

Sunlight in the darkness

Big surprise! I didn't expect to find such a beautiful place in such a context. The hand of a thoroughbred architect can certainly be seen. Breathtaking swimming pool and very well done garden area. The rooms are very well looked after and extremely clean. Practically from the room you already feel immersed in the Danube. I had lunch about a week ago with my Bulgarian wife and my son and I visited it all. The cuisine was another surprise, accustomed to always adapting in Bulgaria, I was amazed. I thought the restaurant had a Michelin star but they told me no. Just as I thought the Chef was Italian given the high profile, accuracy and balance of flavours. I had read extremely negative reviews on other sites, but perhaps the people who wrote them come from a different context than mine, who live on the island of Capri and am a taste researcher. Excellent experience, congratulations we will see each other again as soon as I return to my Bulgarian relatives

It was pleasure for us to visit the place.

We were guests of the hotel in May 2023 for 3 days, and we are happy we choose this uniquie place . The check in with Tonika from reception , was fast and with very useful additional information. They dont provide only a quality of service, they make your stay a stylish way of life. We indulged to the profesionalism fo the staff and we were feeling very comfortable and surprised all the time. Bononia Estate is an exellant for couples, romatism. The garden is amazing and the interior inside the hotel is more then a different. We dont need to talk about the fine details like comfortable pillows.....There are many things to do like Horse riding, they are making a trip with little boats on the river, we visited the castle of granmother Vida, which is very interesting and there were many more atractions. It was pleasure for us to visit the place.

Astonishing

Well, what can I say... This place is simply brilliant! Although my stay there was short, I managed to enjoy most of their services and facilities and everything was really great. The room was so cosy and functional. Even though I booked the cheapest one, which is a bit over the average price level in Bulgaria, it was very spacious and full of compliments and this really shows the owners' attitude. The food was so tasty and the sparkling wine at breakfast was another nice surprise. The fact that the hotel is located on the bank of the Danube river with an amazing view is just the cherry on the cake. I am looking forward to coming back again and I definitely recommend it!
P.S. - don't forget to visit the winery, it's worth it!
