Fabulous stay!

One of the best hotels ever! The hotel is located in what looks like an old caravanserai, although it’s either beautifully refurbished or newly built in traditional style. Either way, it’s fabulous. It is located in a very central pedestrian street, but easily accessible, as the street is in excellent condition and it is easy to carry your wheeled baggage from either end of the street. You can walk to almost all sights in town. The decor is beautiful, both outside and inside. The staff is very polite and helpful. We had a triple room. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom is gorgeous and very clean. The room had all the amenities expected. The breakfast room is in the basement and has a good selection of dishes, including fruit like fresh figs. There is also some gluten free options. The day we left, there was a Middle Eastern and Russian delegation visiting the town (they even came to our hotel), lots of non uniformed police/security and roads were blocked off, so they organised our transfer to the airport, and even helped us with our several suitcases up to the point where the cars were allowed. Absolutely five stars, with a staff to match!

Great hotel in the center of Bukhara!!!

Stayed overnight with a family of three. They chose a standard suite. One bedroom with two bathrooms. The room has everything: shampoos brush slippers bathrobes, etc. The service is very welcoming. Breakfast is very rich - there are all porridge, eggs, lots of pastries and sweets. Two coffee machines are worth it - now there is both espresso, cappuccino, and latte!!! SUPER location right in the middle! BUT BEAR IN MIND: the hotel is in a transitional area - a taxi will drop you off 100 meters away. But maybe it's a plus! Nobody's gonna slurp under the windows. When visiting Bukhara, I recommend staying here!

Great Location

This hotel was perfectly located inside the city walls and very central for all the sights. The courtyard rooms were lovely and large, and cool and airy. The reception area was lovely and large with plenty of space for our group to gather.
The only criticism, and its not a fair one, is that English was not well understood, but that is true throughout Uzbekistan, as Russian is most people’s second language.
Like many hotels in Uzbekistan it was B&B accommodation, there was no other food or alcohol offerings but its superb location meant that there were plenty of these options within a few metres of the hotel.

excellent location

Traditional style hotel, well located, in the heart of beautiful Bukhara, in pedestrian area, with all the attractions and markets within walking distance. Great room and very comfortable beds. I also had a nice traditional massage in the hotel hammam (entrance + massage cost 35 euros, total duration 1 hour).
If we want to find a flaw, the breakfast could be improved especially in the organization (a few more coffee machines would not hurt).

Hotel in the old town

This former caravanserai is right in the middle of the old town, a perfect place for exploring from.
Our room (140) was in a newer part of the property on the first floor (one down from reception) & meant taking a flight of stairs down & then up again. This no step free access to this part of the building so be prepared to carry your luggage. The room itself was large with good air conditioning & WiFi connection. Unfortunately the safe didn’t work, but was quickly replaced (but the replacement was not secured & could easily be picked up to take contents away). The bathroom was ok, but the shower had a tendency to overflow, so just be careful.
Breakfast was in a large room in the basement & was an impressive selection, lots of cakes as well as fruit & hot selections. If there are a lot of people then getting coffee can take time as despite there being two machines the staff insist on serving you & there is only one person on the coffee station & they only use one machine.
We also feel that as we were just a couple and not able to speak Russian we were given a lower level of service, always being pushed to the back of a queue or allowed to be interrupted by other guests pushing in.
The hotel though doesn’t make full use of its facilities, despite having a central courtyard there are no seats there, in fact there are only about six chairs on the verandas in total and they are outside bedrooms so feels a bit odd to sit there if it is not your room. There was a small courtyard outside our room but again no seats & we only had one chair in the room so couldn’t even use that to sit together outside.
Despite the website saying there is a bar, there wasn’t, we were rudely told ‘if you want a drink go over the road’. And the restaurant was shut, supposedly opening again the week after our visit. We did find our way to the roof thanks to a very helpful member of staff, & there is work being done to open a rooftop restaurant, we used some chairs that the builders had left and had a wonderful view of the sunset over the old town. The new restaurant should be an asset.
Overall the hotel is ok, needs to capitalise on the assets better, and treat all guests the same.
