Very good evening meal - well worth a visit

Staying at The Star but evening meal here. Atmospheric pub, went on Halloween evening. Young woman behind bar was excellent, attentive and served quickly. Congratulations to chef, very nice meal nicely served, and very well priced. Enjoyed the evening.

Luke warm welcome and coffee!

We had done a ghost walk on a freezing cold night so we called in here for a coffee to warm us up and was hoping for a warm pudding but as soon as I picked up a menu I was sternly told ‘kitchens closed’ what even for puddings I find surprising at only 9pm, the coffee was warm at best and at nearly £5 a cup a total rip off, it looks inviting but not really, won’t go back.

Lunch on October 8th

I took some of my family from Texas to the Inn for lunch. The food was excellent, service was very good. I wish I had the name of the guy who served us. He was very attentive and a lot of fun. The ambience was great. I would recommend this pub to anyone.

Cosy and friendly pub with hearty food

One of the cosiest pubs I’ve visited in England. The staff was really friendly and the food tasty. They also serve locally brewed beer from Long Man which was quite enjoyable. The pub is suitable for families, and the whole family recommends a stop at the pub!

Lovely pub, great service and tasty food

We had a fabulous experience at this lovely pub on the 2nd May. From the moment we walked into the pub, the lady who served us was friendly and helpful and clearly enjoyed interacting with customers. Our food (I had Chicken and my partner had Salmon) was very tasty and reasonably priced.
The pub has a lovely traditional pub atmosphere.
Highly recommended!
