Stunning grounds but in need of refurbishment.

Situated 15 minutes by taxi or tuk tuk from town this hotel is set in extensive lush gardens. An attractive lounge reception is a nice place to enjoy the views.
The rooms have seen better days the safe didn’t work and the towels need replacing.
The breakfast is nothing special but adequate.
The restaurant in an evening serves a wide variety of dishes. Served with a smile but perhaps not all at the same time.

Relax at Santi Resort & Spa

Beautiful, tranquil hotel set amidst stunning gardens. The rooms are large and stylish, with great views over the well-tended grounds. There's an inviting pool available for residents, too.
The hotel runs a courtesy bus into the centre of Luang Prabang several times a day.

Resort hotel on the outskirts of Luang Prabang. There is a shuttle bus to the central affiliated hotel.

We stayed on a Club Tourism tour. In fact, it is a tour without a round-trip guide from a local travel agency. In the application guidelines, it was a luxury hotel in the royal princess's residence called Villa Santi, but this hotel was changed because it could not open due to the flood. In fact, a local Guide introduced us to Villa Santi while we were sightseeing around the town, but Western tourists were staying there. I feel a little cheated. I don't think they understand it because the club tourism company is totally open to it. If you're going to the night market, I think Villa Santi is much more convenient in town. When I actually traveled there, I felt that the night market had become too secular and had been too late for 10 years. We had free time in the city, had massages and saw the general store on Main Street, so I think the end result was a Santi Resort and Villa law in the suburban countryside. The expansive property is dotted with several SPA buildings, two-story Villa-type lodging buildings, centered around a one-story lobby and a bar and restaurant building. The Villa is a room with a balcony and spacious with mahogany flooring, so I was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, with a bathtub and plenty of hot water, so there was no stress. There was also a fridge, but it was empty inside, and they stopped by the supermarket on the way back to the hotel on the tour bus, so we could buy drinks and stuff. There were also two bottles of free mineral water every day. The vast garden is also dotted with ponds and pools, and you can go outside from the side of the azumaya. On the front, we could see farmers working in the fields. There's an authentic Laotian countryside that you won't find in hotels around town. The breakfast restaurant had a French colonial feel, it was sloppy, but there was an egg stand where you could make fried eggs and omelets. They also cook noodle dishes right in front of you. The bread was not very good. Shuttle bus service is available between this Santi Resort & Villa and Villa Santi around town for $3 per person. The departure time was 9:30/12:30/14:30/17:30/19:00/21:00/22:00 from Villa Santi and 10:00/13:00/15:00/18:00/19:30/21:15/22:15 from Santi Resort & Villa.

Avoid like the plague !!!!!!

Worst hotel staff in the world ?
Unable to give ZERO rating
From
Trying to double the bill from $122.8 dollars to $224 !! Saying it’s bank charges !!!
3% doesn’t equal $121 !!! But manager said it did !!!!
Whilst on the way to the airport, hotel rang our tour guide - with the
Receptionist then Asking me to send money to his personal account !!! After he messed up the bill - see photo below
I did give cash to the tour guide to pay the hotel, but it cost me £3 in bank charges to withdraw the money.
crap customer service ,
Staff asleep
Playing on their phones
Hotel gates padlocked shut at 22.10 !!
No lights on at 22.10 !! Had to use torch on phone to see our way
No porters on arrival or exit to assist with luggage,
No bar service after 22.00
Asked for a drink at 13.00 - told to use mini bar !! 2 beers or 2 waters
50 minutes to get a drink, as bar server had gone home.
Staff trying to imitate me by 4 of them standing and staring at me, whilst I complained about waiting 50 minutes for a drink.
Manager clearly has NEVER been trained in customer service !!
Complain about crap service but still get ‘a service charge’ which management refuses to remove
Spa area permanently closed during our 4 day 3 night stay
American breakfast - absolute joke- 2 fried eggs, 2 x 1” cocktail sausages and 1/2 slice of square cheap ham , but described as 2x pork sausage, eggs and bacon ‍♂️‍♂️
In summary - what a shower of !!!!!
I had even searched for other better options, but the local homeless people already had the benches in the park and cardboard boxes in the street.
At least on the street people were helpful and polite, unlike the staff at this place.
I could go on, but the stress levels are rising at the bad memories of this place, and I have better things to do.
The only good thing, the gardens did look nice.

Trouble in paradise

This hotel is in a beautiful setting with separate accommodations, restaurant and reception buildings set in beautiful very well maintained gardens. Maybe it was our mistake to visit at a very quiet time of year. The customer service was shocking! I mean absolutely appalling! Not sure if the staff need to be better trained or they just couldn’t be bothered. Coming back from an evening in town just after 10pm, the place is in darkness so we had to use our phone touched to make our way towards our building. We saw the light in the reception. We thought we would ask for last drinks to take to our room. The member of staff clearly wasn’t expecting to see anyone and was quickly doing his uniform up as we approached. He told us we couldn’t have a drink as the person whose job it was had gone home and we had to use the mini bar. That only contained 2 cans of beer which my husband didn’t drink. Next day we came back from sight seeing at 2pm and asked for a drink only to be told again to just use the mini bar. Clearly they couldn’t be bothered or interested in making additional money from our drinks. After pushing them, they did some drinks, but they could only be delivered to our room. That evening we came back from town early to get a last drink only to find the person who job it was to pour drinks had gone home early. They actually made him drive back in to pour our drinks rather than doing it themselves. It took 50 minutes!! To top it all, the breakfast was so bad my husband ended having a very small bowl of cornflakes on 2 mornings. This is a 4* hotel!!! When we went to check my husband asked the manager to remove the service charge on previous nights drinks that he brought to the room himself after the 50 mins wait. This was her chance for damage limitation, she just said it wasn’t possible as it was just include. The receptionist then failed to calculate the 3% credit card charge correctly and tried to double our whole bill. Other hotels we visited on our trip were also on the quiet side but it meant we got amazing service. It’s a massive shame this hotel has so much going for it, none of it is its people. Spend slightly less on the garden and invest in staff and manager training or employ staff who give a toss!
