The open-air hot spring bath, food and room were great!

I stayed here on Golden Week 4/27. It's far from the hot spring town, but it has been renovated and the rooms are modern, spacious, clean and relaxing. The hot springs have both outdoor and indoor baths for both men and women, and we were able to enjoy each one at our leisure. The food, including the fish from Nagasaki, was delicious. I recommend this inn.

Remarkable service

Lots of good points at this ryokan. The baths, the food, the rooms, the secluded atmosphere, the relaxed atmosphere.... but for me, this place earns 5 stars for service. Good service point 1: my booking was last minute; I called from Nagasaki around 10am and said "Do you have 2 rooms free tonight?" They said yes. I continued "By the way, I'm a vegan. I don't suppose you can make me a special meal given the late booking..." The receptionist put me on hold for a moment, then answered "Our chef will make a vegan dinner and breakfast for you." Good service point 2: the ryokan staff drove us anywhere we wanted locally, any time we wanted. No wait time, no booking. Good service point 3: After we checked out and were sightseeing in the village, one of my group realized he didn't have his passport. I phoned the ryokan and asked them to check if it was in his room. A few minutes later they called back to say they found it. I said we'd take a taxi back to the ryokan and pick it up. They said, no, they would deliver it to us in the village. A staff member drove out to hand it to us.

Hotel was newly renovated, the room and the common areas are all very stylish and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Both the indoor and outdoor onsens and the lounge area are clean, beautiful and enjoyable. It was the best hotel in our entire trip. Highly recommended.
