The best part for us was being able to go to the onsen with no trouble despite having Tattoos. My son was very happy that we could do that.
The room is standard and the breakfast ceased nice but not the best for kids.
Overall staff were very nice and friendly.

Wonderful Hotel

Can't say enough about the Centrale, the staff, and Ken. I have stayed here several times now and what a wonderful place, never disappointed. Ken and his staff are always very polite and willing to help in any way. I have stayed in their western rooms, but have also enjoyed the hot spring/sauna. The on-site restaurant has a great selection and they have a menu in English if your Japanese is minimal. They have even recently extended the wifi throughout the hotel so if you need to be connected, you can easily do it from your room. If you are looking for a wonderful, welcoming hotel with a great view, that is quiet and centrally located in the Kyotango area, this is the hotel to check out. Arigato gozaimasu to everyone at the Centrale and I am looking forward to my next stay.

Thanks also for writing review about your stay at our hotel!
We were so happy to see you and serve you again since you were
very friendly and polite. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed our Onsen spa and
sauna. I have 2,500 of lavender trees on our site and it will be full bloom between
mid of June and early July. We hope you have a chance to come back during the lavender season.
My staff and I, we look forward to welcoming you sometime soon.
Sincerely,

Lovely relaxing hot spring.

I was here last summer and everything about this hotel are great. Lovely hot spring, great breakfast in the morning, friendly stuffs. This hotel have a lavender frame which it make this hotel smell amazing!!!! Just the moment you are at the check in area, it just put a smile on your face. Sadly, I haven't be able find anything that is close to smell as good as I got from this hotel so far in New York.
When I open my room door, the nice lavender smell just relax me right away. I wish I was there when they have the lavender tour.
I love the country side of Japan so much. This hotel is located on the hill. If you are not in a rush. I would recommend you to take some time to walk over to the hotel. Because the town is very quiet and just so different from the big city. It feel so peaceful and nice to be able to enjoy a nice walk.
This price is beyond what you pay for. You won't regret it for sure.

Great Local Hotel

I had a western room, which means I had my own shower. If you cannot get a western room, the spa on the 1st floor is where you bathe. I only got to use the spa once, but it is the best! Please Google how to behave in a Japanese Spa. There are rules and taboo actions that need to be avoided. That said, the Spa was wonderful! One of the bath's had an area shaped like a bed (made of tile) and you could layout and chill out in the water. Very nice, don't worry if you can't get a western room, the Spa is awesome.
I ate at the in hotel restaurant 3 - 4 times a week due to work hours. They have an English menu, you'll need to ask for it. Varied selection, fresh food, and the chef even made special milkshake upon request. My favorite was the pork curry plate. But they have Udon Noodles, Yakisoba, and vegetable only plates.
For breakfast they offer a choice of Western or Japanese breakfast. The Western was usually Ham, Sausage Links, Scrambled Eggs (they don't cook eggs as long as we do), Texas Toast, and a Banana. The Japanese breakfast was a piece of fish (unknown type), Rice, Fried Shrimp, and soup.
A lot of the staff speak enough English to get a point across. Ken, the owner/manager, speaks fluent English if you have an issue that cannot be solved by the front desk.
They offer a All You Can Eat Korean BBQ every night of the week. You must sign up for the meal the day before you plan to eat. They also offer an all you can drink package with it. The meats were, Beef, Pork, and Chicken. The drinks were Asahi Beer, Suntory Beer, and 13 Different Types of Sake.
No Wifi in the room. Wifi was available, free, in the common areas. You can rent (affordable) a MiFi from many vendors in Japan.
A+ Stay for the Kyotango/Mineyama area.

Beautiful, quiet and relaxing!!!

Located at a beautiful hilltop, you can enjoy the laxurious yaki-niku barbecue in the gorgeous sunset. The hotel is spacious, clean and quiet. We really enjoyed lavender hunting and making the fresh lavender bouquets. Warm and nice hotel people also help your comfortable stay at Centrale Kyotango. I definitely recommend this hotel for your time to relax, refresh, and enjoy beautiful northern Kyoto and the ocean with the reasonable cost. In addition, the owner, Ken-san, speaks excellent English! Thank you very much!!!
