Quant farmhouse accommodation

Accommodation is in a farmhouse setting close to Copenhagen airport and the lovely little fishing village of Dragoer. Rooms quite basic but comfortable with decking seating area outside. Owner, Gerald Dixon, very frindly and obliging.

Very Accommodating

I arrived here extremely late on the night of arrival. They were happy to have me and even provided my breakfast the night before by placing it in the fridge. The couple running the business was extremely friendly.

My mother always told me, if you don't have anything good .........

Well, I will say that they are very nice She drove me to the market, to pick up our groceries, so I didn't have to ride the bike in the rain. But the room was very sparse and cold, almost no decorations. No rugs on the floor, which may not seem like much unless you're in Copenhagen in the winter. Two bath towels, no hand or wash cloths, and no glasses. And the breakfast ( which we assumed for the room price, and the name of the inn being a "bed and breakfast") was very disappointing for the additional price we paid.

Come prepared and be ready to walk to necessities

Farm House in a Copenhagen
The owners are very accommodating; our many requests were all met with smiles. The location is 1.6 miles out of the center of Dragor (Draw-were) set among fields of flowers and farmland. You will need to rent bicycles or car to get around unless you like walking three plus miles roundtrip to town for lunch and dinner. Taxis are available. Bus #35 goes into town, but the bus stop is a bit of a walk from B&B--probably under one-half mile.
Pros: Clean room, comfortable beds, refrigerator, electric kettle for boiling water, small microwave, hair dryer, adequate faucet hot water, good breakfast, and horses/cats to pet. They have a wonderful hygienic policy of "no shoes" in breakfast area and in rooms. Proximity to the airport is also a plus.
Cons: No shampoo/conditioner/lotion, no bar soap, no in-room safe, no slippers/robes, super worn out towels, only one bath towel per person, no suitcase racks, no electrical plug in bathroom to use hair dryer, no mirror in room, no alarm clock, and no in-room phone.
If you are used to B&B's in Savannah, Charleston, areas north of London, British Columbia, etc., this may be too BASIC for you. I highly recommend bringing items with you that you require, e.g. I no longer travel with shampoo because of airline restrictions--therefore I did not wash my hair for three days.
The friendliness of the owners certainly contributed to our stay; they even came out in the rain to wave goodbye.

Great Stay

I booked for a two night stay and was not disappointed. I arrived way before check in time, but this was not a problem. My room was ready. I booked a single room, it had an en-suite bathroom and had nice views out on to the countryside. The area itself is beautiful and although very close to the airport I was not disturbed by the planes at all (unlike the German children on the 2nd morning, who would have woken up half of Denmark!!). The owners are superb and very helpful, giving ideas on where to visit, eat and the best way of getting there. The local village is 20min walk away but great to look around. The owners offered me use of a bike to use to get into the village but it had gone when I was ready. Still the offer was there. Breakfast is the usual continental fare, with the option of eating outside in the garden or in the dining area.
Yes Cottage farm is a bit remote, if arriving at the airport, you will be tempted to take a taxi, its not needed the 35 bus stops a 10min walk away. To get into Copenhagen it is a 15min walk in the opposite direction to wait for the 350s bus. You can buy a 24 / 72 hour pass at the airport and it is valid on buses and trains.
I will be back, it is a brilliant place to use as a base to explore from.
