Great location and beautiful back garden/patio to relax in

We stayed here on a bike tour and really appreciated the nice, clean Auberge, and that it is in a great location, just a short walk to restaurants in Jonquiere and with a convenience store just across the street. The room included a nice breakfast with a mix of some serve yourself buffet items and great hot breakfast made to order.

Unfair & unreasonable

My son and I were booked to stay here on the night of Wednesday Nov 28/18. We were on Via Rail that day on a rail winter sight seeing trip with our return to Montreal the next day.
All of this was booked from Ireland about a month before and paid for.
Because the Via train was not , for technical reason, able to make it to Jonquiere we call this Auberge early that afternoon from the broken down train, to cancel our reservation and returned to Montreal via taxi as my son was flying back to Ireland on Saturday and there were no return trains till that day as Via had informed us that the Jonquiere train returning to Montreal for Thursday was cancelled and that we were on our own.
Via did refund the price of the train tickets
This Auberge still charge us $172.50 as they would NOT WAIVE their cancellation policy even though it was impossible for us to be there .
SO I hope this helps out potential future customers as to unexpected pitfalls from both Via Rail and this Auberge

Stairway to Heaven

This former presbytery is a wonderful building. Architecture and decor both are quite interesting. Public spaces are on the main floor and include a very pretty dining room for breakfast and two comfortable lounges. There is also a kitchen reserved just for guest use. The two bedrooms for our party each included a second little bedroom-for-one in addition to the main bedroom. (Ideal for a child or the snorer!) Lots of space, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Breakfast includes many cold choices and a cooked-to-order hot plate - all delicious! Be sure to have a bottle of wine to enjoy in the young but absolutely beautiful back garden. The only drawback to the auberge is the 30+ stairs from parking to the front door and a similar number from the main to the bedroom level. When we were there in July, during the festival, the music in the park was very present at night until about 11pm. A short walk to city centre. Overall a great home away from home.

Clean, friendly and super location

We stayed in the Helene suite situated on the second floor at the front of the house. The room was perfectly clean with a nice queen sized bed and wonderful balcony for afternoon sun. The bathroom was nicely updated, but European in it's size - not huge - but completely adequate and with a nice size shower. There is also a fridge, stove and microwave downstairs for guests to use - very convenient. We were also offered the use of two bikes, and given the excellent proximity to bike paths that stretch for an enormous distance, we were tempted, just didn't have time. The main restaurant area is within easy walking distance and a gas station with snacks is diagonally across the intersection from the home. The breakfast was basic continental with the addition of an egg and cheese omelet choice. Our only complaint was road/train noise. We live in the country, so were perhaps more sensitive to the sound of passing traffic, but nobody would miss hearing the Via train that passed around 1030 pm and again at about 0730 am. Short, but with a good few positive horn blows. That was the only train we heard.

Haven at the end of a long ride

We stayed at the Auberge St-Georges on the 6th night of our cycling trip around the Veloroute des Bleuets. After 300 km of riding our bikes, this place was exactly what we needed. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, up to date bath room, beautiful property, wonderful decore throughout the building.
It was conveniently located near downtown, so it was an easy walk to several restaurants for dinner options.
Our hosts were responsive to our requests. Breakfast was nice and the owners were kind enough to bring us complementary soup at lunch time when our ride back was running late.
Highly recommended.
